Yvonnya Evans-Peoples is a minister, Christian Grief Coach Specialist, author, mentor, and motivational speaker. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Streets2Scripture Ministry and Build Me Up Sis, a ministry that builds women up and reinforces that they are loved no matter what has happened to them.
Born in the City of Suffolk and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia, she learned how to turn pain into purpose and trauma into triumph. Her tenacity helped her to fulfill the unique call on in her life. She is an intercessor for our people; she is a mighty warrior of God and operates in the office of the prophetic.
Minister Yvonnya has been featured on the 700 Club and is the author of “I Decree Encouragement,” “Don’t Be Discouraged’, and currently working on her new book “From Streets 2 Scripture.” She is also a co-author in the soon to be -to-be-released anthology, “I am Tamar-Come Out of Hiding,” with the visionary Dr. Charlene D. Winley.
Affectionately called “Pastor Yvonnya” by those who love her, she works alongside her husband, Anthony Peoples, to build and develop “Men of Valor Evolving.” Through her work in Streets2Scripture Ministry, she serves as a jail and prison liaison, reducing the likelihood of recidivism for formerly incarcerated men and women.
Pastor Yvonnya mentors, motivates, and educates young adults, helping them rebuild their character and self-esteem and find their identity in Christ. She is the mother of four beautiful daughters, grandmother of twelve, and resides in Portsmouth, Virginia, with her husband.
